Do I need a physical therapy referral from my doctor?

Direct access allows individuals the opportunity to seek physical therapy treatment without the need for a physician referral. There are a few select insurance plans, in addition to Medicare, that require a physician referral in order to have the services covered. That requirement can be determined at the time of insurance benefit verification.

What can I expect at my first visit at Taylor Rehab?

During your initial visit a comprehensive evaluation will be completed including a review of your medications, PMH and current medical conditions. The appointment is designed to determine the appropriate treatment plan to achieve your goals and usually is 45-60 minutes in duration. To better assist your therapist wear comfortable clothing and arrive 15 minutes early to go over paperwork and necessary insurance information.

How often will I have therapy sessions?

After your initial evaluation, your physical therapist will discuss your appropriate plan of care, including frequency and duration. The needs of each patient will vary depending on the particular situation.

Who will direct my physical therapy?

One of our licensed, physical therapists will evaluate, direct and provide your care. We often work in a team approach with your primary care physician and/or employer/nurse case manager, but you are also an important part of the success of your treatment.

How much will my treatments cost and is it covered by insurance?

The cost of your treatment will vary depending on your insurance plan benefits and on what therapy interventions are needed for your particular situation. We participate with most major insurance plans but can verify details related to your specific plan upon request. We handle the filing of your insurance claims for you, but we ask that you handle any co-payments or co-insurance at each appointment unless prior arrangements have been made.

If you have any questions about fees, appointments and insurance, please call one of our offices. We are happy to help.
