- Be prepared to describe your health problem in detail. Include your reason for seeking therapy, current medications, personal health history, physical abilities, and any recent changes in your daily activities. Some patients find it helpful to jot down notes beforehand and bring them to the appointment. It is very important to maintain good communication with your physical therapist throughout your entire treatment.
- Prepare yourself mentally. Think about what you hope to accomplish through physical therapy. Set a realistic goal and think of reasons why you can and should attain it. This will help you stay motivated during your session.
- Dress comfortably. Wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothing since you will be doing physical activity.
