Caitlyn joined the Taylor Rehab team in January 2020. She was born and raised in Western NY and recently moved to NC in 2019 to be closer to family. Caitlyn discovered an interest in physical therapy after completing volunteer hours in an outpatient orthopedic clinic while in high school. Caitlyn graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Daemen College in Buffalo, NY in 2015, after she completed her Bachelor’s of Science in 2013. After graduating, she spent time in an orthopedic clinic before starting traveling Physical Therapy for four years. Caitlyn worked in a multitude of settings throughout the US which included: outpatient orthopedic clinics, hospital based inpatient and outpatient acute care, home health, and skilled nursing facilities. Working in eight different states afforded her the opportunity to learn various techniques and skills from many experienced therapists with different PT backgrounds, trainings, and degrees. These experiences also allowed her to gain exposure to various cultures and customs of the patients on caseload. Caitlyn continued her education while traveling with online courses focusing on orthopedic treatment techniques for surgical and non-surgical conditions, neurological and stroke rehabilitation, vestibular rehabilitation, interventions for dementia, and attended seminars on corrective functional movements, management of movement system disorders, and the McKenzie Method. Since settling in NC, she has taken a course in spinal mobilization techniques through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars and is working towards becoming certified in Dry Needling and Spinal Manipulation through the American Academy of Manual Therapy (AAMT). She is enjoying the ability to further her education by attending these seminars and is looking forward to learning various new treatment techniques throughout her career.
Caitlyn is enjoying exploring her new “hometown” with her husband and is excited to purchase a home in Mooresville. They enjoy traveling, weight training, outdoor activities in the sunshine, and hiking together.
